The purpose of this program is to ensure that Penn State employees and students work safely with machines that produce ionizing radiation and comply with all Federal and Commonwealth regulations and Penn State polices, while minimizing the burden that these requirements place on the users.

  • State registration of x-ray machines and other devices
  • Inventory tracking of devices
  • Compliance Inspections/Radiation surveys
  • Monitor exposures to personnel
  • Emergency response to potential and actual exposures
