Signs Found at the Entrance to Laboratories Using Radioactive Materials
| "Radioisotope Laboratory Emergency Procedure" Door sign. This sign will be posted on or near the door to every radioactive material use laboratory. This sign will always be posted with the "Caution Radioactive Materials" sign. |
"Caution Radioactive Materials" Area or equipmentsign. This sign will be posted on or near the door to every radioactive material use laboratory. It will also be posted on pieces of equipment that contain radioactive materials. Do not attempt to move, remove or service any piece of equipment with this sign. |
Signs Found Inside Laboratories Using Radioactive Materials
| "Notice Caution Radioactive Material" Hood label. This label is attached to the outside of chemical fume hoods in which radioactive materials have been used. Do not service the inside of the ductwork for these hoods without prior RPO approval. The outside of the ductwork may be serviced without RPO approval. |
"For Radioactive Waste Only Do Not Empty" Radioactive Waste Label. This label will be attached to all radioactive waste containers. Do not empty or remove any waste container bearing this label. |
"Notice Caution! Radioactive Material" Sink drain label. This label is attached to all sink drains that may contain radioactive materials. Do not perform any plumbing work on drains or sinks with this label. |
Signs Found on Radiation Producing Equipment
| "Caution Radiation This Equipment Produces Radiation When Energized" Radiation-producing machine label. This label is attached to any machine that produces radiation. Do not service any machine with this label without prior approval from the Radiation Protection Office. |
"Caution High Intensity X-Ray Beam" Radiation-producing machine label. This label is attached to any machine that produces high intensity x-radiation. Do not service any machine with this label without prior approval from the Radiation Protection Office. |
