Commonwealth Campus Infectious Waste Disposal
Infectious Waste- Infectious waste includes specimens and materials from biology labs as well as blood containing materials from first aid and medical care areas.
- Biohazard/infectious wastes should be placed into the appropriate containers (e.g. red/orange biohazard plastic bag, sharps container) and disposed through the campus specific infectious waste disposal vendor.
- While not truly infectious waste, preserved biological specimens (e.g. cats for dissection) should be disposed through the campus specific infectious waste disposal vendor.
- Infectious waste should be disposed of in accordance with the Penn State infectious waste disposal policy SY29:
